There’s nothing to be alarmed about when it comes to most plumbing noises. After all the high hissing is nothing more than air being released, the swishing noise is simply water passing through the pipes, and that screeching sound is just an old faucet being knob being turned. Often for the homeowner, there is little difference between the professional terms of repair, replacement, or maintenance when it comes to solving problems with a plumbing system. You just want it done as quickly as possible without having to worry about the problem coming back up in the future. Although the terms have different meanings to a professional plumbing contractor, a really good plumber understands what your needs are and is willing to tell you what needs to be done when providing a quote without trying to use professional jargon as a means of confusing you while describing the work to be done in your house.

Your entire plumbing system takes abuse from your household every day. Consider for a moment everything that goes down the drain: waste, garbage, hair, food, chemicals, and, of course, items that don’t belong in the plumbing. Over time, all these elements will clog your drain and inhibit the smooth flow of water throughout the system. A partially blocked plumbing system creates pressure on the pipes and the joints that connect them. Ongoing pressure will cause damage to key plumbing components. It’s only a matter of time.

In fact, many homeowners would say it’s a better way; it’s trenchless sewer repair.

When you think of the need for a plumber, most people tend to think of an immediate repair such as a clogged drain which won't clear with typical means available to the homeowner, dripping faucet, or burst pipe. Although such jobs are common for plumbers to conduct, you should be aware plumbers do more than such basic tasks. There's a reason plumbers have to be licensed. They have a practical knowledge of how to approach repairs and they also understand how and why plumbing systems work both as a design and in physical reality.
